Explorer's Guide Maritime Academy, based in Appleton, Wisconsin, takes pride in offering quality USCG-approved captains license courses for all mariners, those both new to the trade and seasoned boaters.

We understand the adult learner and will work with you to successfully understand and complete the course material to get your license.

Our friendly staff will assist with your course registration and answer questions you may have on the different types of licenses, sea service time, license requirements, and course funding.

OUPV Inland & Great Lakes 6-pack license The OUPV (operator of uninspected passenger vessels) Inland & Great Lakes captains license lets you take 6 passengers for-hire, plus crew, on your vessel (thus the nick name "6-pack"). This captains license is required if you are working on inland or Great Lakes federal waters with passengers for hire on a power driven boat. This includes duck hunters, tours, fishing and similar activities.

OUPV Near Coastal 6-pack license The OUPV (operator of uninspected passenger vessels) Near Coastal captains license lets you take 6 passengers for-hire, plus crew, on your vessel (thus the nick name "6-pack"). This captains license is required if you are working on any federal waters with passengers for hire on a power driven boat. This includes duck hunters, tours, fishing and similar activities.

25/50/100 Ton Master's license with Assistance Towing This 25/50/100 Ton Master captains license with assistance towing course is now offered with Assistance Towing at no additional charge. Successful completion of this captains licensing class and exam allows the student to apply for a 25/50/100 Ton Master captains license from the U.S. Coast Guard with an applied Assistance Towing Endorsement. With this Master's captains license and towing endorsement you will be able to operate an inspected vessel with 6+ paying passengers, and tow vessels for hire.

OUPV 6-pack to 25/50/100 Ton Master's license Upgrade. The 25/50/100-Ton Master's captain licenes upgrade course offered by Explorer's Guide Maritime Academy provides an opportunity to those with a valid OUPV 6-pack captains license to raise their grade to a 25/50/100-ton Master captains license. The 25/50/100-ton Master's captains license upgrade allows you to operate both inspected and uninspected vessels with a gross tonnage up to 100 tons, and is required by the USCG for any inspected vessel certified to carry more than 6 passengers for hire.

We also offer CPR/First Aid courses through the American Heart Association, the Emergency Care & Safety Institute and Skills Assessments for the AHA, ECSI, and ProTrainings.com online training system students.
