Fished Kewaunee on Monday morning, dropping lines 8-11am. One laker off the rigger on the same color as last report. Moved around in 130 to 180 FOW with boards, diving discs, and the deep rigger popped around 10am. Only bite of the morning and the smoked fish should be ready later this week. It's been a couple of years since seeing one, but the bulldog fight brought back some memories. Edit: the spiny fleas really are starting to pile up on the lines again.
was out on 7/30/23 worked the 100-130 feet range found good amount of bait balls out deeper most fish were up in the top 40 feet all spoons beside one taker on the FF that got off all around good day of fishing managed a few nice ones also green with white ladderback was a good spoon for us.... few takers after the dark hours also
Fished 7 of the ten days of the Kd. These were the 3 biggest fish for us. Two of them solo with the dog. All in 60 to 80ft of water north of Algoma. All spoons, 2 on 5 color, one on 7 color. 23.82, 22.04 and 21.57, hoping the 23.82 makes the payout. Heard the water has warmed so fish are probably deeper
Water: 71°
Tried fishing Algoma with PK from 4-6PM. He had two hits right away. One on the magnum spoon with the blue ladderback off the rigger that shook loose. Not long after came a hit on the disc diver with flasher fly, that after some dicey netting by me, made it into the boat. Dodged the skunk once more with a nice bow. Thunder boomed and scared us back into the harbor. Not many guys in the lot Tuesday evening.
Fishing was great out of Algoma 7/15. Set lines 3:30am in 70 FOW well south of the floatilla and trolling south to north staying in less than 100’ of water. First fish 4:10 am on moonshine bloody nose mag spoon on 5 color. Rigger down 32’ took next two kings before 5 am on a lighted flasher and home-tied green glow fly. 5 and 7 color leadcore took the next 8 hits on mixture of spoons, but definitely a preference for blue.
Ended morning at 8:30 going 7 for 11 with all nice (but no KD weighers) kings up to 20#. Hope to see you all out there.

Fantastic fishing this morning! (7-8-23)
Lines set by 4:20 AM in 80 fow.
Spent all day fishing 80-115 fow. Surface temps were 65-67 and had a good temp break down 50 feet. (50-55 degrees)
Got bites from 25-75 down, but best action was in the bottom half of the water column.
From 4:20- 6:45 we went 10 for 14 with 9 kings and 1 steelhead coming boatside.
