Fishing in Port over the weekend was a grind but some decent catches, the coho imo are very spread out and starting to get a little tougher to target. Fish are in 50fow out to 200 fow so no depth is best. You get on a hot school and its lights out the next hour is zilch! Stubby dodgers and some variation of green slider flys have been best on short cores 2-5 colors. Dipseys with mini spin dr and slider or pnut flys out 40-70ft loc have also taken fish. Hope more kings start showing up or it may be a rough few weeks ahead. goodfishin all!
Did not fish Saturday AM due to predicted big wave forecast, turned out to be pretty nice most of the morning so we should've went. Yesterday morning was absolutely gorgeous and the fish cooperated.
Coho rigs on 3-4 color leads and dipsys at 40-55 ft loc were best, stubbys and green flys on riggers 20-30 ft down took some fish as well.
Hope this hot coho action lasts awhile. Have ran some king gear but not much for us yet on them did get some steelies yesterday as well.

Fishing has been very good out of Port Washington however boat traffic has been unbelievable heavy. We have been catching mostly Coho Salmon with a few Steelhead and King Salmon mixed in. Depths have varied but 100-200 right now have been most consistent using Coho rigs on flat lines, dipsy's and downriggers. We have some weekday openings if you want to get out and fish.
Decided to try port today because reports showed a little more king action than You bright alert paul are we still on 60 coming up Milwaukee. Got to town by 4:30 AM in the street was full of boat trailers! Worse than some weekends. It took longer than I had hoped to get out so I headed south and set up about 19 north 140 feet of water and 48° on the surface having passed most of the fleet. Took about 15 to 20 minutes to get our first bite which was our three set Dipsy 35 feet out with the same set up that has taken at least three fish on each of my trips out. Today it ended up with five bites!
Then the bite started coming pretty fast including a triple and a couple of doubles. Two color, mono with snap weight, six color, four color white Dipsy again. A fair number of boats inside and outside of me and I decided to take a heading in. Picking fish off between 140 and 125 feet of water. Not marking much but they were biting. Finally got a King bite, Dipsy on a three set orange Hulk about a six pounder. As I got into shallower water started getting some be This is 151tter marks but they didn't bite.
Had some short hitters today maybe five or six drive-bys and two or three that escaped after being hooked up. Deepest rigor at 80 had a white Blinky 8 inch flasher with a little boy blue that took two nice coho. My coho killer down 40 had only one fish today. Reg RV Sandburg down 60 only fired once. Homemade Craig's flounder on a 200 copper was my fourth spoon bite and Strike Assist was 4 for 4 find spoons.
Spent most of the morning 2.8 to 3.0 speed over ground. A friend said he done well slowing down later in the morning so I tried that and we did pick up three fish soon after I did that 2.4 to 2.5 mph. We would've been done at 9:30 but I had thrown back a small one and then it took almost an hour to get "homer".

Looking for a full or part time captain for the upcoming season. If you or someone you know is a licensed USCG Captain please email me at [email protected].
Getting ready for the 2026 season and expect to be putting in on April 22nd in Racine again this season. My vessel (28ft Bayliner 2859 Ciera Express) is going up for sale this week as I will likely be moving on to another harbor for the 2027 season. I hope it does not sell too soon!!
If you know of anyone looking for a very comfortable fishing boat, please pass on the link below for the Boats.com posting. It will be slipped at Reef Point Marina in Racine for anyone who would like to take a look at her in person.

Fished port today. Didn't do well three bites and two fish. One was 6 or 7 pound hen brown trout. I saved the eggs if somebody wants to get them in Mcfarland. It's still fresh and will not freeze for another five days hoping someone will grab them.
