Ran into the "Ranger" guy at the Petenwell County Park this morning closing up his camper. Ice just starting to form away from the wind in the bay with no current.

No truck traffic yet. Really!

Was out Saturday morning. Conditions challenging. Once boat got shoveled out with a snow scraper it was OK. Limited out on eyes in 3 hours with one buddy. Lots of shorts. One jumbo crappie and a nice whitey also. 21 fow on channel edges over wood. 47 water temp. 30 air temp. 1-2 footers.

Here's a couple Kay and I boated some years back along the top edge of the buoy line the first week of November. 21 & 22 inches. We boated 11 of them pulling flies with large minnows. These were both on the same rod at at the same time.

Hey Dobber, go put some seed in the lake!

Keep a tight line!!!

So after seeing this, I had to share. My buddy landed this smallie thru the ice a couple of years back. Plus it was on CR. Same type of structure tho. Thought you'd enjoy!

Over the years have caught some huge smallmouth fishing along west dike. Mostly by accident. There is a 6-9 flat that is real chunky with big rock and wood before it drops off out to 30-35 Dow.

We will drift channel from north down to island with jigs. Most likely when boat would swing up in the 6-9fow you either snag or pick up a Smallie or white.

The numbers are there.

Can’t find the pic but daughter got a 21” small jaw about 3 summers ago.

I have caught lots walleyes in that area over the years.

Looking forward to that spoon bite and seeing one of those big slabs come up.

Peace to the semi retired from Arkdale. Maybe we can walk some hard water together.

?Peace and Good Fishing!!!!

As requested, here she is, caught on jig/minnow in 12 fow at steep break along east buoy line. I seem to catch a few smallies most times out, but always 12 inchers or so. Just commented to my buddy after catching a small one, wondering where the big ones are, and an hour later, this one hit. Now if a guy could only figure out how to catch some numbers of these. Maybe target them with tubes or spinners?
