Is this place still an amazing walleye fishery ? We would walk out from fishermens landing , set tipups along the channel and wait for the walleye parade. lots of fun.

A lot can happen in two weeks.  Right now, the ice is building back up, and you can pretty much walk anywhere you want, which is very easy with virtually no snow on the lake.  It looks like things will slowly build and machine travel will be sensible very soon. Fish are very active and cooperating in the usual places at the usual times.  This is a great time to get up there, it’s nice and quiet without any snow on the organ donor trails.

I’m just wondering if there are any ice conditions available? I’m planning on coming up in about 2 weeks and planning to hopefulay be able to do some ice fishing.

Anyone know the name of these weedless jigs sold at the bait shop in mercer. Couple hr drive there so trying to find them online with no luck.

Looking for any tips or advice. A few buddies and I will be staying up on Bastine second week of January looking to get out on the ice. We have never fished the flowage and not finding many ice reports.  We are absolutely open to trying off certain landings if anyone has any they recommend. Not looking for any secret spots , (unless you want to share) just some general guidance if possible. Happy to meet up with some cold ones on the ice if anyone is interested as well.  Would love to get into some crappie if possible but some  tip up action would be great too.
