Lake Michigan Bender Park

Went out for Coho on Monday morning trolled Coho rigs and small small spoons got nothing 4 other guys out there I didn’t see any nets going up no Browns either I  guess a little early yet.  At the launch after pulling my boat out a gentleman came in got out of his boat and when getting his truck his boat started to float a way so in the water I went up to my knees to get his boat LOL all because we have no piers and running the bottom of my boat on the concrete I’m not to happy with that also.

Was out 1st time Wednesday trolling for Coho and like Deerhunter said the Browns were all over the place I was in 22-25 fow getting em on my Coho rigs and small Pro King Cracked Ice spoons I did get 1 Coho and 5 Browns we missed quite a few because of some tackle issues but all fixed now. The clearance in the Bender gap was under 1 ft but enough for my 16 ft Lund Explorer.

Started casting around 7 this morning by the power plant. Tried for a couple hours and nothing. Switched it up and trolled between 20-30fow. Went 11-16. All browns and 1 laker. Spoons, flicker minnows, thin fins, all went off. South troll seemed to be best but both directions took hits.  Launch wasn’t too bad to get out of, I’ve seen it worse. ​

If you make it out of Bender and get to fish, please report your success, good or poor.  Also the status of bender.
Hope to hear about some coho action.

Was thinking of fishing tomorrow out of Bender.  I usually fish there more during January/February and was wondering if there is much action now in April around there?  Thanks!
