Any of you guys going to the derby tomorrow. Ill be out anybody want ti hook up let me know .and is it true the wave the shanty fee on derby day
Fished from 7 to 11. Kept 6 gills 8+. Threw back a couple smaller ones and 2 perch. Put out 8 flags and not a single one again. About 9 inches of ice but be careful for the crack by the pier at cooks.
Got out this morning again, got deeper at 16ft. 2 crappie at 10in and one small largemouth. 3 flags set, nothing again... Marked fish for 4 hours straight but only got 3, all caught on minnows. They were picky.
Lundman, I was thinking the same thing. Would like to know what if any fish have been stocked. I have paid the fee with no gripes. The lake is an easy on and off for me and my old back. Love it at night. Some days the fishing is good and others not so much but that's the sport of it. Jim
Bobojoe what makes people scumbaggs just cause they have shanties sounds like someone is jealous they don’t have one and yes it’s crazy to charge someone 25$ to use a shanty
Does anyone know how much money has been collected from the shanty fees over the last 3 years and how much of that money was actually used for incremental funding for stocking fish? When I asked the marine police last year they didn't have a clue. I was told the shanty fee money was added to some sort of "general fund" for the marine unit. This fund covers expenses like vehicle maintenance (summer and winter), officer overtime etc. I would really be interested in knowing how many of what kind of fish have been stocked.
Yep, $25 for portable popups and $50 for shacks your leaving on the ice. Only lasts for the season
Big cat 187 are you talking about permanent shacks or flip over types? If it’s hubs or flip overs I’m not paying anyone 25$ so I can use it on that lake that’s just plain stupid

Was a very windy morning. Had a couple straps rip off from the shanty anchors. About 10 perch from 9am till 3:15 in 14 feet of water, 2 of them being jumbos at 10.5 inches . 4 flags going shallow to deep..nothing. Make sure to have your license and shanty permits. $25 cash and you can buy it on the lake when the you get stopped. Been stopped everytime for the past 3 years, never at night though. Hoping to head out this evening or early morning to get a little deeper
Jkup u can park at cook park across from high school like previous comment said or go on the northside by LLVA park. Just look for were the crowds are that's the good spots :)
