This lake is hard to figure it out in the winter. Myself I hit it up a few years back and caught nothing but fingerling perch, ice fishing. The landing in the summer is difficult and really not that accessible to the public.

From what I have encountered through my trips here in the summer and even winter, this lake has a lot of potential. It does however have many sharp drop offs making it very difficult to know where the fish are. Also, the bottom is very mucky with what appears to be marl, so you must use a boat. I would agree that there are some large northern pike in the lake, which I have learned from other locals on the lake, althouh the number of giant pike has dramatically dropped in the last 5-10 years. I still think that this is a pretty peaceful lake full of potential, so please respect it.

Been fishing on this lake every year for the past 6 years. Very small (only 39 acres), no wake lake. Only access is if you carry in your boat down a narrow path that leads to the lake to the public pier. the lake is crystal clear, can see to the bottom easily at 20 feet. The deepest part of the lake is 44 feet. The fish--norhtern, large mouth bass, crappie, rock bass, perch and blue gill-- can get pretty large, my guess is due to the run off of nutrient rich soil from the surrounding farmers fields. Many drop offs to fish, particularily right in the middle of the lake and at the west end. These are great for Northerns. Myself and my husband have personally seen Norhterns in excess of 4 feet long on seperate occasions, they have yet to be caught. That's our goal for 2005. The fishing is never dull. Peterson Creek is at the West end of the lake but very difficuly to access, usually only with a small canoe unless water levels are very high, which doesn't seem to happen often. Brekke Lake is the neighboring lake to the east, very similar to Rollofson Lake in Topography and fish, but is accessible by a public boat launch.
