Mirror Lake

Nice lake to fish but all you catch is bluegills they dont even give the bass a chance to take your bait... I heard they have good northern fishin havent tried it yet this spring i will... Shadow lake has a lot better fishin which is right next to it but check them both out your guarenteed to catch a fish at either lake..

I lived on this lake for two years, and it is easily the strangest lake I've ever fished on. The fishing is good. You can catch trout and bluegills of decent size, and you will not have to wait long for fish. The lake almost has too many bluegills, as you will struggle to catch anything but with live bait. Unfortunately, you would be better served to eat lead paint chips than risk eating fish in this lake. The lake is spring fed, enough so that fishing the lake in the winter can be dangerous. Some spots in the lake never freeze, or are very thin at best. The lake bottom is also very, very odd. Murky and soft do not do it justice. We struggled ot ever get actual depth readouts on the lake, as the bottom is so sparsely condensed. Fish have a very odd, sulfury odor to them when cleaned. The first thing we were told by neighbors when we moved in was not to eat the fish in the lake. If you ice fish in a shanty, you will observe a wealth of floating particles, some very large. In most of the lake, visibility is terrible. Swimming in the lake is not fun either, as you would come out of the water with a slight coating in slime. This is a good lake to learn how to fish on, and it is connected to a better lake. It's also located right in the middle of the town, which is neat. I think it would be a fascinating lake to study, because I've never seen a lake with a bottom like that.
