Had 17 flags and landed 10 northerns all between 22-28 inches using tip ups. Hooked up with a 40 incher in the shanty, but lost him a foot below the ice. Great fishing. Also has some big gills and perch

I used a float-tube on Allen Lake caught many gills and sunnies. Also caught some nice Lg Bass. A nice Northern or two will surprise you also. If camping in Hartman Creek give it a try.

Fished both Allen and mid lake the weekend of the 11th. Actually was very suprised. We started out on mid lake which borders the beach lake. About from noon to 4 steady flags. Nothing to brag about but some action is better than no action. We ended up catching 4 largemouth and 3 snakes. Then decided to move up to allen were we focused on panfish more. We used the vexlar and must have found a school because the bite was steady from 4:30 to dark. My buddy pulled out a 9in gill. Nice fish. We probably caught our limit but didnt keep a thing. Tight lines to all. Try it out. Good lake for little kids. Definently will keep you entertained.
