Phantom Lake

Shorelines are getting soft and someone put a foot or tire through next to one of the ​launches. Top several inches very soft and turning dark.  Be careful. 

Was out from 9:30 to 4:30. A couple of nine inch perch, and some smaller bluegills jigging with waxworms. With medium shiners on tip ups no flags for me but some others landed a few bass and northern. Overall a nice day on the ice despite the slow fishing. 8” of solid black ice topped with three inches of the crunchy stuff. 

I was out yesterday.  I didn't measure the ice but still several inches thick. Lots of water on top in places.  Several people were out. Fishing was slow but did ok on gills.  Couple small perch and largemouth.  No flags. Hopefully the rain doesn't ruin it. 

Anyone have an ice thickness after the last few days of weather ?

I was most of the day today on my UTV.  Most of the lake was a measured 10"-11" with about the top 3 inches being "white" ice and clear ice below that.  There is an area to the north of the cattail island out from the boat launch that only has about 8".  It was the last open hole to freeze and you can clearly see the edges of it.  It is probably fine, but looks sketchy.  I fished the entire lake from 2' to 9', and all sides of the lake and never caught (or saw) a single keeper.   Terribly slow.

Went out this weekend off the boat launch. There was conservatively 6-7 inches of ice. Saw some snowmobiles running across the lake. A few people were dragging out riding Snowdogs.

Bite was slow.

Does phantom have catfish?

Deadon….  You pay the night you fish. There will be a guy with a notebook outside of Castaways taking entry fees and putting your name down on that weeks sheet.  There will be another guy walking around to check boats/live wells.  Hope to see you out there.
