Was out before 6:00 this morning trolling for walleyes. Was a beautiful morning but not very relaxing. As soon as I put the second rod in the rod holder I had a hit, but missed it. A little while later picked up a 18" walleye. then quickly missed another. Then my Yellow Bird planer board dove underwater and immediately headed for the other lines. Got the board up to the boat when the line broke releasing the board, but the leader was tangled in the other line so I hand lined in a 19" smallmouth. The ensuing mess ended my morning of fishing. Eventually circled back, but couldn't find the planer board. It has my phone number on it if anyone finds it. It should be on the north end of the lake with today's winds.
Not a report just a comment. Used to fish Nagawicka a lot and did real good late spring for crappie in the "kettle" and for some decent walleye around the island. Still remember those days and wish I could bring them back. No fishing partner for me anymore so all I can think of is days gone by!!
Sunny 65°
Water: 72°
Out Saturday morning 5am-8am. Drifting 16-30 ft. Drop shot with crawler caught gill, SMB, 24-26" Pike, and a walleye. Jigging shadow rap caught a small carp or big sucker...not sure of species as line snapped at the side of boat. If someone catches that thing with the lure in the side of its face PM me...I'd like to get it back lol. Firetiger color.
Nice multi species outing.

If any of you have FFS and use it you’d know the fish didn’t stop suspending. They simply are incredibly spooky with clear water. You can watch them from a distance see the shadow of a boat or the actual boat. They scatter immediately when they see either. I think zebra mussels have increased visibility greatly in most lakes. Geneva for example crystal clear water still has large schools of suspended gills. Was there a week ago and caught some spotting on sonar and casing a 5mm tungsten and red worn to them. You could not be closer then 50 feet from them or they would not bite or would spook. They were suspended 25-30 feet down over 68 foot of water .
