I have been going here every year for the past 6 years. The fishing has never been bad, and it is always a joy to go. If you've never been to the lake, it is amazing and you should definitely go.

Had a great time fishing this lake for the first time this past week. Plenty of panfish for the frying pan as well as steady bass action meant never a dull moment. Tried for musky for a bit and was able to raise one. Great scenery, great lake!

I have been fishing Big Sand Lake for 17 years. Since the Eurasian milfoil was poisoned a few years ago, the fishing has only improved, and the lake is more accessible than ever. Although the walleye population is down, if you have the time and skill to catch them they are big. The largemouth bass and crappie fishing is great. The perch fishing (when it turns on) can be outstanding. And of course Big Sand is a top muskie lake, recognized last year with its trophy designation.
