I have been coming up to plummer lake since i was a kid and the fishing each year is getting worse with the lake level at an all time low all the great spots the lake once held have suddenly disappeared. Though there is always one or two great muskies pulled out of this lake each year i have always gone for the awesome walleye and smallmouth the lake holds. There is no boat lanch on the lake so good luck getting on the water but if you do you will not be disappointed

It's been close to 30 years since I have been on Plummer lake, but I remember it well. My deceased GrandFather had a cottage that was second from the end of the point that divides the two halves of the lake. I spent many seasons as a young boy and young man fishing and swimming the lake, and "exploring" the surrounding area. The lake water is crystal clear with mostly a sand bottom, in some areas there are small to mid-size rocky shores.Years ago when I fished with my Grandfather it was fairly commonplace to put a stringer full of fish together for a fish fry on any given day. The time of day, the bait on hand, and area of the lake you fished pretty much dictated what species of fish you caught.(walleye, large and smallmouth bass, bluegill) Besides the great fishing the lake brings memories back to me of the wonderment and awe of watching the Northern Lights from the boat, the lonely cry of the Loons, the explosive hatches of mayflies, the creak of oar locks in the night, the laughter and giggles of my sisters swimming on the beach, the hissing of a Coleman lantern, and sharing a boat with the best fisherman ever my Grampa, Otto Patrick Cavanaugh.
Happy Fishing
