Was starting to figure out the lake the night before our last full day on the lake, no walleyes but plenty of smallmouths and perch in this lake, found the pike/musky hole the night before we were leaving in the morning, hit that spot in the morning before we went and got a follow from a nice 36-40 inch musky.

My Grandfather in the 40's owned Fish Trap Resort in Boulder. He then owned Cedar Bay resort in the 50's on Oxbow. I can remember, my father taking my two sisters and my brother and I walleye fishing. we used to catch them with cane poles with bobbers. My father used to say, all he was doing was baiting and taking fish off the hooks for us. A wonderfull time. Over 4o years of fishing the lake. What was a 10 in the 50's is now a 2. Walleye fishing is terrible, Musky is Ok, since catch and release has taken over. Never a lot of big musky though over the years. Most in the 30 inch range. Sometimes 40's. My father caught one in the 50 inch range around 40 years ago. If you want big musky Oxbow is not the place. No matter what the printed articles say. Everything is no where near what it used to be up there. Although the quiet is still wonderfull. Fall musky fishing is pretty good though.
Thanks
