A friend and I just fished this lake for the first time a few days ago on June 9th, 2012, and caught nothing after having great success on many other Vilas and Oneida county lakes. There was a sign posted near the carry-in launch that said the daily limit on trout was five, but we didn't see or catch any fish of any species. Three other anglers had wrote on the sign saying the lake is a waste of DNR money and that there are no trout in it. Water clarity was poor with lots of scattered sediment. We didn't get a single bite, and we didn't see any surface activity on the lake. The lake just has that dead look, even though it looks pristine from the shore. I think it's a bog lake. Not sure what the story is on this particular lake, but it looks pretty bad based on our first experience.
