I'm not gonna echo the same things everyone else has been saying about the musky and smallmouth fishery. Yea, I too have had some of my best days fishing on this lake also. I do though want to know if anyone has seen the huge channel catfish that resides in this lake? Just a single giant "cat" that I watched one late spring morning swimming lazily in the shallows. This isn't a joke. I believe he was trying to feed on eggs of unguarded musky beds. I watched it visit these beds, with or without musky on them. It's all I could think of as to why it was doing that. This happened in about 2-3 fow, crystal clear. I literally could have reached down & picked this fish up with my bare hands. We followed it with our boat for 5 minutes or so. It was very dark in color & probably around 20lbs. Definitely big enough that it didn't need to worry about being a Muskie next snack. Anyone else out there seen this fish?
