This is a great Northern Wisconsin Lake. Clean, clear, scenic, quiet, and some great fishing action. Quantity over quality is usually the rule here but if you spend enough time on the lake you will see some good sized fish as well. No outing is complete without stopping by The Golden Rule for Pizza and a cold one.

A very nice lake in the early morning before 'normal' boat traffic. Though boat traffic is relatively low compared to other more popular lakes it is higher on Placid than other lakes that make up the Tiger Cat Flowage (Burns, Twin, Lower Twin, Upper Twin, and McClaine). The wildlife is just incredible; have seen just about everything including cranes (heron?), eagles, bear, and some pretty impressive snapping turtles. The loons and bullfrogs always deliver some impressive background music! Some good structure for bass. Many weedy areas as well. The middle gets to about 30 ft in places. Be careful around the edges; many places to chew up your prop! Some rocks and stumps where you may not expect them as well... Have never been skunked but have never had that really fantastic day either...
