This lake is a real challenge. I feel I have become a better all around fisherman. With little to almost no weeds you have to rely on structure (rockpiles, humps, stumps) and wind blown points to find fish. Once you get a feel for it you can have a lot of fun. The walleye fishing is great, most of them in the 10 to 16 inch range. You can catch a variety of fish going for walleye; perch, crappies, smallies (which were a pretty goldish brown) and even caught two muskies just jigging ( a 30" and 42"). The little time we did go for muskies we saw a lot of action. You have to do a little work and be patient and it'll pay off.

beautiful lake, especially on northeast end above wolf island, but was not impressed with the fishing. Many islands and points that drop to 5-10 feet, but all 1600 acres are that deep in the main basin so might as well throw dart at map and fish there. Some of the darkest water in N. WI. Bad day of fishing Aug '10, and won't go back.
