Its a nice little lake with little being the key. If you are going to harvest fish it would probably be wise to take smaller fish while trying to improve size structure in lake. But that can be said of most bodies of water in Wisconsin.

I fish this lake several times per summer, and occasionally in the winter. Black Dan is an outstanding Muskie lake in terms of fish per acre and quality of fish, however the extremely clear water and abundance of seemingly "good" water can make it difficult to fish at times. Also good largemouth bass lake. Crappie and Walleyes can be good on this lake, but the population is inconsistent as they are easily fished out if pressured. Harvest fish RESPONSIBLY on this lake; it is small and is reproductively challenged with regards to walleyes especially. Nice Brownies are present, but hard to find. Northerns are present, typically 24-30". Bluegills and perch are stunted. Not a keeper in the lake.
