Tougher fishing - very clear - lots of stunted Bluegills and Rock Bass. Try the rockbars at dusk and beyond for walleyes - Big pigs in there but tough to find.

I've fished this lake my whole life, so I know a thing or two about it. Long Lake has its up years and its down years. There's no real dominant gamefish and the lake is dominated by overabundant and stunted bluegills and rock bass. Small walleyes are relatively abundant thanks to recent stocking, but not easy to find. A decent muskie population exists, but they are declining in numbers. Rainbow Trout were stocked in 2002, but it is unknown how many remain. Long Lake is tough water to fish unless you're out for panfish, mainly because of its clarity and fast-dropping bottom. It's still worth a try, however.
