I fish a couple times a year in this area - mostly for bass. I rented a VRBO house on the south end of Franklin Lake from June 4th to 8th. Never been on this lake, and just wanted to get up north to relax.
To my surprise, fishing off the pier, my wife and I caught sooooo many largemouth bass - in so much that we lost count. The lake water was very clear, seeing the bottom at the end of the pier (approximately 3 feet).
I was using a texas rig - most successful with bright colors (yellow tip, white & grey mix, even pink). Most hits were in or at the end of weeds - but I had quite a few follows out of the weeds.

This Lake is now closed to the public, lost the road side easement,I'm guessing.
Eventhough the lake was stocked by the D.N.R. back in the 80's and still has 2 State owned islands, we lost all access.
What a shame, the town should buy the 8 feet of land needed to get lake access
