Lake is being drawn down to do repairs. Also had a large fish kill over the summer due to high heat, saw a lot of dead pike.

Just saw my review from a few years ago and saw a typo! 100 perch, not 1000! Anyways, Buffalo has always had good fishing, though I think it's died down a bit in recent years. Still a great place to go fishing, has a bit of everything. Perch, Largemouth, Northern, Catfish, and more. A few years ago I caught a bowfin, which I know is a rough fish but was still something cool to catch, it being a prehistoric fish and all. Lots of weeds in Buffalo, but fishing the cut-outs proves to be good. Great docking area, and it's worth donating a few dollars when you go for the upkeep.

We usually fish by Pacwaukee with no boat and its on and off fishing. If you go under the bridge or by it you might catch some nice crappies or bass. If you go on the other side you might catch some small and big bluegill. Catfish are present and bullheads.

Buffalo Lake is a great lake when the fishing is good. It produces consistent bass with great size, easily averaging 3-5lbs. I make certain a make it up to this Lake more than once a summer! The town is also great, people are nice, and a great fishing atmosphere all around.

Springtime offers decent Bass fishing. This lake has year round open seasons (check regs.) Spinnerbaits work well on the flats (this whole lake is a big flat). Tubes around shoreline cover.

It is a beautiful lake in it's design and attracts all species of wild life. Living on it year around lets me always see something different constantly. There seems to be too many normal things occuring. One only has to sit back, watch and wait to see something odd occur each year. I never dreamed such a place existed in my younger years even though my mind was set to retire here when I was 41 years old. I have not been disappointed one iota!! Edward N. Davis

I have had a cottage here for over ten years and never has it been so bad with the weeds. We really need some help to open the lake up to all forms of recreation. THE BASS ARE HITTING ANYTHING YOU THROW!!!

I have been fishing Buffalo Lake over 15 years. In 1992, I landed a 8lb. 29" Walleye under the bridge in Packwaukee. Although the quality of fish has dropped a bit, this lake is still one of the finest fisheries in Wisconsin.
