Buffalo Lake

I'm hoping to get out this week, will report any readings.

Anybody been in boat yet? I would go but recently got kidney stone.

For bait there is a Holiday in Montello that has everything you need. Buffalo holds some very nice pike and bass. It also has some of the iffiest ice, and that is every year. There are a lot of springs. I would access only where people are fishing. ​

Looking for some help as I will be fishing buffalo lake for the first time this weekend.  Never been on the lake.  Just looking to be safe and have some fun with the kids using tip ups for catching and releasing northerns.  Any size to the fish in here?

Such a long skinny lake with minimal good maps I can find that makes it difficult to pick a place to start and don't necessarily want to just go by others. 

Where is best place for bait?

Fished Buffalo Sunday morning near Packwaukee, fish were active at times, however the wind picked up and started to push the "slop" around from the clearing I was in. Then fished a flat which opened up and the northern were patrolling near the middle which was fun for a bit, but overall the smell of decomposing/dead weeds was really bad and the lake weeds are definitely frustrating at this point. Might have to try again next spring as the bass were all BIG.

Slow day for us yesterday.  Bass did not want crankbaits.  Panfisherpeople were catching fish.  Still beats work.😎  Not enough sun for a slop bite.

Anyone care to share a water temperature?  Thank you in advance.

Would also like to know how perch and gill fishing is.

Has the perch fishing gotten any better? Is the water level still low?
