A great lake for the laid back fisherman. Bass, pike and panfish sizes are average but some trophy fish are present. Before the public launch was put in we would rent a boat from the farmer on the south end of the lake. Not sure if rentals are still available. Due to the good water clarity there are deep weed lines extending out to 20 feet. Live bait presented below slip bobbers on the deep weed lines will produce very well. Plastics and deeper diving cranks will also produce. Natural springs keep the water cooler than other lakes in the area. Many great memories on Gilas Lake.

This lake is one of the most beautiful lakes around. Its not the biggest lake, but is it pretty. Tons of blugill inhabitants. Largemouth Bass are a good catch here too. Crappie are here but not easy to find. The northern population is good but you gotta be a good fisherman to even get a glimpse of anything with size. Perch are present, but are hard to come by. Has water so clear that you can see bottom up to 20 feet deep!
