Big Eau Pleine Reservoir is a large freshwater reservoir located in central Wisconsin. It covers an area of approximately 6,348 acres and has a maximum depth of 46 feet. The reservoir was created in the 1930s by the construction of a dam on the Big Eau Pleine River, which is a tributary of the Wisconsin River.
The reservoir is known for its excellent fishing opportunities, particularly for walleye, northern pike, and musky. In addition to fishing, the reservoir also offers opportunities for boating, water skiing, and other recreational activities.
The reservoir is located in Marathon County, near the cities of Wausau and Stevens Point. Overfished in recent years. Legal eyes are few and far between.

Over fishing has depleted the Walleyes and Crappies in the last 2 years. If you are looknig for bullheads and carp, this is the lake for you. TIme is better spent at Du Bay or the river.

Stinky, poor water quality. I wouldn't eat anything out of this body of water. Fishing is tough from the fish kills over the past 12 years. Go to Dubay if you want to fish this area
