Sunny 53°
Ice: 5"
Ledges
Fished the BEP this morning and caught 6 crappies between 10 and 11 inches. However the ice is becoming shaky at best. Ice depths ranged from 4 to 6 inches at best and the ice was soft, There are numerous areas of open water and poor shoreline ice expecially on the north shore. I would not recommend ice fishing the BEP at this time.

Partly Sunny 50°
Ice: 9"
River Channel
Took a drive and ice fished the BEP.  Not many folks out and didn't know what to expect .  Walked out.  9" ice with top 2" pretty soft but the rest was surprisingly solid.  Marked alot of fish but only a few crappies bit.  Tried many different presentations but couldn't figure em out.  Not one tip up flag or tip down take either.  Guess that's fishing.  Water was a bit dirty.

Wow ice really taking a beating huh. My grandpa and I were out there a week and a half ago with about 8" at the park and a few days later he went out to a different spot around the park with about 8" as well. Hope this slightly colder streak will harden the ice back up and make some more ice as well for the last few weeks of fishing season. I'd still like to fish for giant northerns in latter February/March.

Fish4fun, I drove by Saturday evening and saw a few ice anglers out.  They were off the main channels though and few and far between.  You'll have ice but I don't know how much or how good it is.  Please post a report if you go.

Made it out this evening only fished a couple hours 4-6 ish. Lot of people out fishing today. Had about 9" of Ice south west end of the park. I wasn't no more than 200 yards from shore so not sure what the ice is like in the middle/channe. Fishing was pretty poor half dozen flags with only two little cigars to show for it. Did see the group next to me on the other end of the hump I was on running for tip downs a good bit however. Going to try the same spot next weekend just going to set up a little different.
Good luck fishing y'all be safe the ice is pretty spotty.

I was out Wednesday on the east side of the O bridge. I had about 8" of really black ice. There was a guy out in middle on the west side of the bridge with a portable and ATV. You wouldn't catch me out there with all of the warm weather we've been having. I'm thinking  the ice season might end record early this year. Bring your creepers with you or you might end up on your back.
