Few lakes have water as dark as Tug; it is a heavy "rust" colored stain, but usually not cloudy. As a result, fish are usually quite dark colored, and fish are tight to structure, usually any brush, logs/wood, or weeds along shorelines. There is actually A LOT of underwater structure on this lake; rock and Boulder bars, humps, etc. The key is always fishing very tight to any structure. There are beautiful crappies and bluegills, decent walleyes, and northerns including some real pigs. Muskie are reported also, but I've never personally caught any. There used to be an annual ice fishing jamboree on this lake every year in late Jan. or Feb., but it discontinued. There were always big crappie, big northern in upper 30" range, walleye in upper 20" range, and etc. on the board. The lake really contains some nice fish, it's just a matter of connecting with them.

Warning - there's an area in the middle of the lake that is only about 1.5 ft deep - comes fast and gets your prop if you are not careful! Caught a small Northern, 16" Walleye and Bluegills - some keepers. Quiet lake.
