We were staying at an Airbnb near half moon lake and we were looking forward to going out and catching fish. We chose Half Moon Lake because it was closest, Clear Lake is private, and Nokomis was just too intimidating having never been out there before. As we got out, it appeared it was never fished by anyone this winter and there were multiple signs posted stating "support catch and release" which should have been our first red flags. We punched several holes and never marked a single fish or saw any signs of life on camera. This place was a complete waste of time. Reviewed Feb 4, 2024

I ice fished twice, no competition. Fished the first time in the close spot from the boat landing had minimal action caught 1 small perch on 4 flags. Second time went all the way around the corner to the deepest hole. Caught a 27" pike on a small rig setup for perch and small minnow. Talked to a nice guy living on the lake. He said he heard the lake completely froze so that has to be why it wasn't very special. It is a pretty little lake though and wished it was better fishing as I don't live to far away.
