Poor fishery. Water levels are down, temps are up and baitfish populations seem insufficient to self support in a relatively small 100 acre lake with a high density of waterfront and rental properties. Night time baitfish traps showed very light populations. Panfish populations seemed remarkably low. Underwater and shoreline structure is minimal for holding panfish, walleye, etc. Also, there doesn't appear to be any services available on the lake. So fuel up and buy your bait prior to arrival. The connecting channel to Long Lake (where the only public ramp is located) runs around 1.5 feet and is only about 1 boat wide. The channel is quite long so you have to cross your fingers when you enter that you don't encounter a pontoon boat coming the other way ... of which is the most populous boat form on the two lakes. BTW ... the public ramp on Long Lake is a well maintained one-lane, concrete ramp just off the roadway. You have to have some courage when you back down the ramp from the shoulder as the front end of your tow vehicle will be on the roadway just on a curve as you are concentrating on your mirrors watching your trailer enter the water. No parking stalls at this ramp either. Some folks were noted parking on the shoulder of the road (not uncommon for Northern Wisconsin) but, it should be noted that there is no parking lot or mooring pier at the ramp site which is managed by the local Lake association. These observations were made in August of 2012
