I moved to the West Salem area 11 years ago and began exploring Lake Neshonoc then. This lake is best known for it's Crappie fishing. It also has a fair number of White bass.
Numbers of fish very by year class. Some years the number of crappies is off the charts while other years not so much. I have caught fair numbers of Large and Small Mouth bass. Other species are more occassional including Walleye, Northern Pike, Musky, Channel Catfish, perch and blue gills.

This lake has benefitted greatly from efforts to improve the fishery over the past two decades or so. I grew up catching carp here (1980s) and now when I visit, I find a mixed bag of quality fishing opportunities: northern, walleye, smallmouth & largemouth bass, bluegills, crappie, and white bass. The panfish seem to run big (or I'm just lucky). The key is finding the fish cribs and dredged areas that are too new to show up on the maps. The lake is small, though, so if you go, don't keep too many!
