Partly Sunny 40°
Water: 40°
Fished Friday with high north winds and cold temps. Water varied from 40 to 41 degrees. Tried the far north end, drifted along the east shore, tried the weeds south of the middle rock bar, the far south end and the south swamp. We did not get a bite on crappie minnows and jigs, but lost one small walleye boat side. It was brutal.
Sunny 45°
Ice: 7"
Fished the west side yesterday. Had 9 tip ups out from 9:30 - noon then added 5 more from noon - 3. Iced 8 fish on 16 flags. 2 LMB and 6 northern. One northern just shy of legal. The shore line is starting to deteriorate but there was still 7" of good clear ice where we were fishing. There was no water on the ice. It is a shame they canceled all of the on lake activities on Saturday. I'm not sure who made that decision, but the ice held up decent last week. Wednesday - Friday of this week definitely isn't going to help things though.
36°
Ice: 9"
Fished north end again yesterday. 1 flag, 1 small northern. Ice was in decent shape. I measured 9" and there was no water on the surface yesterday. I don't understand why this spot isn't producing anything. I've consistently done well in the spot I'm at. Not this year. I'm either trying a different lake or a different spot on Rock next time out. Good luck and stay safe.
Fished yesterday with a good sized group for about 4 hours. 21 tip ups out total. 3 flags, one small northern. It was pretty miserable out with a strong south wind. We were on the North East part of the lake, measured 9.5 inches of ice. The travel conditions are ideal with about 1/2" of hard crusty snow on the ice. The fishing was awful.
Sunny 10°
Ice: 8"
Submerged Vegetation
1/21/24- ice on north end ranges from 8.5 to 9 inches
Cold, windy, but sunny, about 10 ft of water. Water relatively clear, could see weed beds about 8 ft down.
Panfishing very few and far between. Alot of marks on the sonar of fish coming to investigate the bait, but leaving without attempting a strike.
One pop and drop flag and surrounding fisherman not seeming to have much action on flags either.

Lake was wide open Saturday, iced over by Sunday morning. A handful of people were ice fishing the north east end yesterday. A guy on facebook posts daily videos by Bartels beach and from Monday - Tuesday morning it went from 4” to 6” in the same spot. Good luck and stay safe!
