Was up there over memorial day weekend and caught one bass. Muskies were beginning to spawn. But crappies were up shallow in the weed beds and were just finishing up spawning. I slaughtered the crappies, but muskies were up shallow feeding on the crappies. Had a great encounter with a 45 inch muskie. I was reeling in a crappie and the muskie hit it. Once it saw the the boat it let go. We saw the same fish tailing on top of the water. I caught one other muskie about 25 inch.

This was my first time at Spider. I was there the week after Labor Day and was disappointed with the fishing. Got 4 small panfish, but then on Wednesday, a weather front came through and I got a 26-inch Musky around 8 pm in the bay on the south end. I think it would take time to become familiar with this lake. Lots of speedboats and jets skiis during the day.
