I always had great luck on this this lake early spring with fly rod. Use 4 weight with 2lb tippit and black ant with white rubber legs . In early spring Fly Rod will out fish spinning rod with live bait 10 to 1. I have been fishing this lake for over 50 years and each time I launch the boat am excited as the first time ever fished here. Beautiful lake with good quality fish. My Uncle showed me how to fish this lake for big walleyes but swore me to secrecy.

Crane is fishing very well this year. Crappies in 12 inch range, but now may be soft so I don't keep. Gill's are runing large and not necessary to keep any under 8. I'v taken a number of tens, and a 23 inch wally - I only fly fish!!!
