Was out today checking the ice...tried 4 spots and spud bar went thru in 1-2 chops...with that said, after a meeting tonight, the Long Lake Fishing Club is CANCELLING the ice fisheree slated for Feb 24th due to bad ice conditions. The raffles will still take place at Dundee Sportsmans Club. See our Facebook page for more info. Thanks to all who have supported the club.
Was also out today west side..1st time I have been out all season...pounded thru over 25 holes...and the thickest ice i measured was 8 inches...an as da shark said top layer was in chunks..Tried fishing north of Mr Eds...but found ice in a couple spots only 4 inches....ice very black in that area. Shoulda listened. an called Dins all they had were some fatheads an rosies...an a SIGN said because of THEFTS...minnows will be going up....first time I can remember they asked me to open my bucket when I checked out...kinda sad. after 4 hours on the ice...not a bite...fished 4-15 fow . Water crystal clear.
EDIT. also stopped by closed UFO bar...creek coming in open water almost past their pier...didnt check ice.

TWO good things happened today...the Pack won and I actually caught fish....bait of choice minnows...water still very clear and avg. 48 degrees....by the way the LLFC stocked this fall...with DNR approval...4000 extended growth Walleye. Dins' only had a few shiners, and Fathead minnows...and not many.
