Menomin takes alot of time to learn although looking at a lake map it should be easy. My experience is the fish can be anywhere at any given time. They are roamers in this lake. Best bet for open water is to troll the main lake on the south side. Ice fishing concentrate on the cribs and surrounding areas if they aren't there find somewhere where no one else has fished and pop some holes, you might just be suprised what you catch. This isn't a numbers lake, but there is some high quality fish in here. My personal bests are 29" Walleye, 22" Largemouth, 14" perch, 10.5" bluegill, 14" Crappie, 38" Northern.

And its not the dead sea if your a good fisherman ice fishing on this lake is the best! I catch alotta big crappies 12-16 inch ones and perch 12-14 inch. Big northerns also and their are muskies if you land one its most likely gunna be huge. In the cementary I've caught big bass and ice fishing used and aqua-vu camera and saw huge catfish on the bottom also. This lake has all sorts of fish and their are days where its slow but when things pick up u will be happy.

Lake Menomin is a great lake to fish don't mind the green algae on top the surface theirs still giant fish in the lake I ice fish it a lot and I've. Caught 16inch crappies and landed good sized notherns also. If your thinking about taking a trip here to fish do it! You will make a good choice.
