Lake Mendota is a 9,781-acre lake located in southern Wisconsin, in Dane County. It is the largest of the four lakes that make up the Yahara River chain of lakes, which also includes Lake Monona, Lake Waubesa, and Lake Kegonsa.

The lake is a popular recreational destination, known for its clear waters, excellent fishing, and a variety of water sports. It has a maximum depth of 83 feet and is surrounded by several residential neighborhoods and the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

because i have fished the lake about 15 times this fall for walleyes and comparing to other lakes i have fished recently including lake of the Woods.Waubesa
