I Agree 100% with you barefoot. I was out 15 times last year and only landed 2 eyes.
Lots of cats and white bass
I also released both eyes 16- 17 inchers.

Ice: 0"
Does it matter? Who's landed even 3 , 15"+ eyes, let alone 5 in one day since the late 1980s-early '90s?
Be carefull backing in to the DNR landing. With the low water level you might drop trailer wheels over the edge of concrete ramp & get hung up.

Brush Piles
Fished on 6-7" great ice all over. Now it's wet & slick. NEED CLEATS!
Fished Mon, Tue, Wed. we tried 8 different areas, some with sunken tress, brush, cribs, out in open at various depths. Only a handfull of dinky gills, kept a few perch each day for cpl meals. But, they aren't very big. It was just nice getting out in pleasant weather. Now it's too warm, ice will go to crap in a few more days like ths.

Sunny 10°
Ice: 4"
For the 3rd time ice covered over 80% of the lake Mon. morning, this time it's looking good to stay. There were still open areas but, by Tue. those areas sealed. I measured 3" 100ft out from mid north shore yesterday where it was froze since Mon. Today, same area has 4 1/4". More than inch more per day with these temps. Saw 3 people walking out from public landing late afternoon. If we get a dusting of snow it may be hard to see the areas that are not as thick,,, like thru narrows, south shore to the south face of Saddle Ridge bluff.

In regard to all the folks who have inquired about the deets to the of the CKS Ice Fishing Tournament. We have unfortunately confirmed that CK announced that The Annual CKS Ice Fishing Tournament is canceled this year due to undisclosed reasons.
Krummy, Swan Lake does not sustain a natural walleye population. It relies on stocking. I can remember as far back as the late 80's or early 90's when students from UW's fishery program were doing studies to figure out why there was such poor natural reproduction. For whatever reasons the walleye population must be supported with stocking. The DNR was stocking 1 to 2 inch walleye fingerlings every other year on the odd years. Such as 2015, 2017 and 2019. But they did not stock in 2021, presumably do to Covid restrictions. They did come back in 2022 and stock larger fingerlings (agerage size 8 inches) so there will be some around. For the most part it is a put and take fishery.
