Looong time ago. Maybe 20 years ago, I took a couple buddies to south Shattuck after crappies in the spring-spawn time. One weekend one buddy caught a 17? crappie. Very next weekend a different buddy caught a 17 1/2? crappie?? The lake froze out the very next winter. But man, those were the biggest damn crappies I?ve ever seen!

Fished here at the end of June and Mid July. Once catching several Northern and a few Crappie, the Other catching only a couple of each.
I spoke to a local resident of the lake and he informed me there was a freeze-out that decimated the Bass population (he didn't think there were any left but I did catch one) and the Panfishing had become pretty poor with the size becoming very small on most.
