Stayed at the Backwoods resort this past memorial weekend. The weather was beautiful 75 and sunny. Fished a few bays on the north side in about 5 feet of water. Caught an infinite amount of sun fish. We did manage to land about 7 largemouth bass. They weren't monsters but were fun to catch on top water, spoons, and nightcrawlers. I love the fact that there is no size limit for bass on this lake. Looking forward to coming back in July.

Buddy and I fished Chain. Monday - Started trip 09-17, ended trip 09-19 Thursday. Monday - Fished cribs in 14- 16 fow for crappies. Some action on tubes and Berkley Power Baits, steady action was on 2-3" fathead minnows. Fished 1/2 day, final talley 1 perch and 21 crappies 8-12, released 15-20 gills 5-8". Tuesday - Continued to fish cribs, same silts, best action was on flatheads, Tuesday total 27 crappies, released everything under 8". Biggest was 11 3/4". Released many gills, mostly 6-8". Wednesday - Windy and rainy. Fished shoreline in 6-10 fow. Caught 4 northerns between 24" and 30". Lost 2 northerns at the boat. Caught 6 bass 10"-14". Had one nice musky break off (we weren't using leaders) and had one musky hit short at the boat. Most action on Bomber square A's crawfish color and chartruse spinners with a black twister tail trailer. Got rained out around 1:00. Weather moving in, washed out Thursday. Overall, a great trip with my best friend. Don't overlook this lake, it has something for everyone...... Bass (largemouth and smallmouth) musky, crappies, bluegills, northerns, perch, and rock bass.

Great lake for crappie and nice bluegill. Walleye fishing has been slow the last few years but DNR and lake association has started stocking program. Musky fishing is steady, always some action. Nice smallmouth on points and rock bars.
