Lake Winnebago Special Regulations

Below are special fishing regulations for Lake Winnebago as regulated by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. For complete fishing regulations for Wisconsin click here.
  • Channel Catfish no minimum length limit with a daily limit of 25 in total, but only 24 if one flathead catfish is included.
  • Flathead Catfish season is May 3 - September 30, minimum length is 30" and flathead catfish from 36" to 42" may not be possessed, with a daily limit of 1.
  • Lake Sturgeon - Hook and line fishing closed all year.
  • Minimum length on Largemouth and Smallmouth bass is 14" with a daily limit of 5; open all year
  • Muskellunge season is May 3 - December 31, minimum length limit is 50" with a bag limit of 1.
  • Northern Pike season is May 3 - March 1, minimum length limit is 26" with a daily limit of 2.
  • Panfish: Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, Sunfish, Crappie and Yellow Perch no minimum length with a daily limit of 25 in total; open all year.
  • Walleye and Sauger (includes Hybrids) no minimum length limit with a daily limit of 5 in total; only 1 may be a sauger or hybrid; open all year.
  • The county-wide daily bag limit on catfish is 25, except on Winnebago system waters.
