Been here 65 yes, Red Cedar going down hill. Fair amount of bluegills, bass an crappie. Lake clarity declining, too much lawn fertilizer probably plus bad septics. Oh yeah, when you buy your lake place let's cut down all the trees so you can see the lake and let the runoff into lake faster. Walleye raising been no go last 2 C19 years. Pike down as more spawning areas cut off by bad culvert setting, lake levels not properly held. Pickerel lake on roadside 48 can,t be accessed by spawning fish due to bad culvert, 3 spring ponds on SE end have culverts set so low they are effectively unavailable.

Got to know the lake and where the fish are at for the time frame. Not hard to catch legal bass near shore and over weeds. Pike can get big but not along the shore except when the water is cold. Walleye come and go, since the RCLA stocking the numbers are up but many short ones. Panfishing is mostly good. Again it all depends on the season. Evening fishing can be rough with ski boats/pontoons/PWC. Sometimes it's hard to find an area to fish without being interrupted. Many of the boaters don't know the no wake rules (200 ft from other craft & shore)or don't care. RCLA invasive weed removal (it's a good thing)has helped make space for native weeds which fish different from CLP.

Very surprised how easy it is to catch fish on this lake, being so clear. Work the shorelines for avg sized bass and pike, hit the bays on Red Cedar, and all of Hemlock or Balsam for great bluegill action. If you find the right schools, the bluegills are pretty nice sized. Lots of SMALL Northerns in the entire chain of lakes. TROPHY smallmouth are present but very hard to get to bite.
