Fished the last 3 day’s along the Nekoosa stretch of river! Water temperature is really on the rise last couple day’s 51-55 varies in some spots. Still a few walleye’s around the spawning ground’s, fewer and fewer each day majority are heading back out on the main lake. White bass have been moving up fast and being caught throughout the river. All our fish are being caught up shallow over mud flats or rocks in 4-8 fow! Some fish on plastics majority are being caught on hair jigs tipped with large mud minnow’s.
Anyone looking to book a trip April-22nd,26th,28th,29th are available.
Good luck be safe!

This is why I do what I do! I had Ron and his young nephew James out today. James had never caught a walleye. He had a blast! I absolutely love seeing kids learning and catching fish! Water temp was 48.6 to start day and end at 53. They went home with a limit each and some white bass for a big family fish fry this week. We fished 4 to 16 ft today using plastic, live bait, rip n raps and hair jigs. The walleyes today didn't want bait moving hardly at all. I have May 10, 11, 12 and 18th open if you want to get fishing.

Fished the past 6 days straight along the Nekoosa stretch of river down along the northern half of the lake. Water temperature has been on the rise each day. Couple days ago water temperature was 36-37 in the early morning and around 39 late afternoon. Last couple days water temperature in the early morning has been around 40 degrees, yesterday afternoon when left around 4 pm water temperature was 44.5 degrees  water levels are slightly above summertime pool with bery little current, they jave had one gate half way open in Nekoosa last couple day’s. 90% of our fish are coming up shallow in 2-5 fow over mud flats, last couple day’s with the walleyes spawning they have been tight to shore in 2-4 fow over rocky areas. We have been pitching hair jigs tipped with large mud minnows work order on Jigs And Ringworms. These fish are really on the move when spawning, catch a few in some spots and lot’s in other areas, go back to previous spots and there just gone. Majority of the larger females we caught last 3 days have been spawned out! Still catch a few smaller females with spawn in them. White bass have started to move into the river starting to catch quite a few on the northern half of the lake on up into the river.
Anyone looking to get out on the water April-22nd,23rd,29th,30th are still open

Sleeting 32°
Water: 40°
Fished yesterday with a great father and son team from southern Wisconsin! Guys took a break from Fishing Castlerock and wanted to learn some new areas and locations to fish. Water temperature yesterday was 40 degrees just about the entire trip. Once the rain/snow started water temperature started to drop! Yesterday we caught all our fish in many sections of the  river, over rocks and mud areas in 4-8 fow everything yesterday was  on 1/4 oz hair jigs tipped with mud minnows.
For everyone calling and asking about where we have been getting mud minnows “Joe” At the Bighorn store has mud minnows.

Anyone looking to book a trip,Next week April 10th,11th,12th are available

Good luck be safe

Water levels are on the rise. 1.3 feet in past 10 days  6” increase just since yesterday. Castle Rock is up 1.5 feet with 9” increase last 24 hours. Both flowages are still 2 feet low.

For everyone calling and texting about boat launch on the flowage.
Long  view point 7th street  is complete, still no doc’s in yet.
Wilderness park- no doc’s in yet. Couple older gentleman have been launching at wilderness last couple weeks. Guy’s have a smaller lund 14’ rebel lund but still needed hip boots.
10th street I haven’t seen anyone launch there with low water.
Adams county petenwell county park- few guy’s have been launching there bit its been difficult without hip boots
Lake levels should be up to summer time pool soon. A lot of snow in some areas to the north followed by tain should help.

Anyone looking to get  out on the water I still have some availability
