Camelot Lake

Dont try to fish after 10am if its a holiday/ weekend. Boat traffic is heavy during this time. Fishing can be good when there isnt any traffic on it. The fish are average at best, but there are some big ones out there. This Lake tends to get choked by weeds if the harvester isnt out and about.

Great lake for Large mouth, walleye, and northern. Throw jerkbaits and spinnerbaits in cold water, in warm weather throw soft plastics under docks and spinnerbaits in the opens.

There is an abundance of largemouth, cast a crawdad crank bait along drop offs and you are guaranteed a couple of eating sized largemouth 15- 17 inches.

My family owns a house on Camelot and I have been fishing there probably before I could even walk. A few years ago I would have given this lake a lower rating because the drawdown they used to do every year definitely had a negative affect on the fishing. I remember going out before they started the drawdowns and maxing out on crappies with my family, then the drawdowns made it a deadzone for a few years. Well, they stop doing that and the fishing is back to being good. This past summer/fall I made it up there about 4 times and managed to land about 12-15 pike(that's me with the 34 incher if you look at the photo gallery), and probably 20 Largemouth bass, in very limited fishing time. You just need to know where to fish, find dropoffs outside of bays with a lot of weed cover and work x-raps or spinnerbaits through the weeds for the pike. For the bass, they really eat up texas rigged tube baits, green being my most productive color. They are stocking thousands more crappie this year, I think in a few years this will be an excellent fishing lake. The only complaint I have is the boat traffic in the summer.

my folks have a house on the the lake. towards the middle of the lake there is a natural spring that runs through there. this is where you will find pike and walleye. good bass lake too.

Nice lake, but too much boat and jet ski traffic to enjoy the fishing. I caught some nice bass..small but fun to catch. It isn't very picturesque: seems all the homeowners on the lake removed shoreline vegetation and it resembles a large basin rather than a lake.

Good fishing, always suprised by the big bass, 4-5 pounders are not rare. Plenty of small panfish for the kids.

Excellent bass lake!!! Fish the docks with a worm or leach, especially early June and the action is non-stop!!! Fish dawn and dusk as boat traffic is heavy during the summer and enjoy!!

Once you learn the lake you are "hooked". I've had a house on the lake for two years now. Sleeper bass hiding thru-out. Hit the docks. 2-8 lb. fish have been caught by yours truly. (I'm the yahoo in the green canoe) Did you see me tip? Probably not, I'm there on week days.

Oh man who ever you are Cindy, you have no clue what you are talking about. The only reason the lake was lowered so much a couple of years ago was because the dam was broken. The lake has great bass fishing. The best way to fish the lake is to take a blue/black jig and pig. You take that set up and you flip it under a dock you'll catch big largemouth bass that way.

A wonderful place to fish in summer. A large population of bass and panfish. Also a great place to find a variety of pike. The lowering of the water actually concentrates the fish more. So it is a plus for the winter time fishing. The only complaint is the boat traffic.

I have been going to the lake now since i was a boy and i have seen a lot of changes in the area. When i was younger you could ride a mini bike to the beach, even on the roads, now you can't that is a negative change. The area has grown up way to quickly. On the other hand the beach that we use is still tucked in to the quiet end and is quiet relaxing. I hope the lake stays part of a family tradition.

Great lake for bass fishin and for monster walleyes; you just gotta know where to find them. If you are goin out on the lake go out early and make sure you're off the lake by 10 and then go out at 8 at night.

Fishing Is Terrible. They Drop The Lake Every Year Having An Effect On The Fish Population.
