MOON PHASE
Full Moon

I went fishing on the Wisconsin River just upstream from Spring Green on 9/3 and 9/4 I caught a lot of sheepshead and smallmouth bass and walleye but only one of 7 smallmouth bass was a keeper and a variety of other species including a pike and a 25 inch catfish. Worms fished on light tackle by far caught the most fish.

Will be staying near spring green and was wondering how the shore fishing is along that stretch of river and of any good access points

I would recommend you look over the website for Clements Fishing Barge in Genoa.  My boys are 36 and 39 and they still talk about the "Barge".  It is quite an experience.

With the (hopeful) rising water temperatures over the next week or so, I am planning on hitting the river next weekend. Is any of this stretch of the WI River worth crappie fishing? I have a few tentative spots picked out, but I don't want to waste my time if this isn't a historically decent place to catch crappies in the spring time. Thanks!

Went out last Saturday and the ice was good around Lone Rock (granted it was still cold). There was 12"+ everywhere I went. Won't have a chance to fish again until Saturday, but will report what I find.

Was curious if anyone knew the status of the Rainbow Rd backwater east of Spring Green. Wanted to try it out this past weekend but noticed several no trespassing signs posted and fencing that was put up blocking the "boat landing" trail down to the water. Kind of a bummer this spot is off limits now...

I would say 40 degrees is pretty close to the water temp. I haven't been on the Wisconsin. but that's what it was on the Mississippi today. They usually run about the same. The Wisconsin at Muscoda rose over 2 feet since Tuesday and is now slowly falling again. Flow is pretty high, 26,200 cfs at Muscoda right now.

Was trying out some fly fishing ideas today. River read 40 degrees where I was.

Does that seem right?

Doesn't look like that will change much in the next month. Bummer.
