Was out Sat morning and this afternoon. Water is pretty high again. Got only 4 or 5 walleyes each time out on twister tails. Caught my second sturgeon of the spring this afternoon. Cool looking fish. I had on two other big fish that were stripping line that I didn't land too. Maybe another sturgeon or carp. Other than the 1 sturgeon I caught today, I caught one 3 springs ago also. These are the only sturgeon I've caught in this area with over 20 years of fishing here. They must be migrating up from Dubay? I knew these were in the WI river, but thought more in the South. A friend of mine caught one between the Mosinee and Weyerhauser Dam a couple years ago, so they are at least that far upstream too. Who has the scoop on the sturgeon population in the WI river and if DNR is planting, or they are reproducing?
