Sunny

ICE DEPTH

31° - 35° F

WATER TEMP
Below 40° F

Fished a local backwater this afternoon with some success. Caught a lot of bluegills and some small bass. Sorted through plenty of small gills and kept 12 decent ones for the fryer tomorrow night. I met some other anglers and had some nice conversation also. Ice is good except along the edges where I had to walk in some open spots to get on the ice. Hope to get back out this weekend if we don't get much snow or rain. Good luck and stay safe out there

The water at Boscobel during "normal" conditions is swift and shallow. If you go slow and are careful there's a 0% chance you'll beach your boat on a sandbar. With that being said, there's a 100% chance you'll run through sand and shine up the prop just trying to get around. You'll be be fine, just keep your lookers open and weave your way up and down the beautiful stretch of river. As far as fishing goes, plenty of cat that will bite on about anything. Smallmouth, rough fish & walleye are abundant too. Welcome to the area!

Looking to fish Wisconsin river this year for first time out of Boscobel landing. Interested in water conditions, navigating slowly what's the odds of beaching on a sandbar ? Have 18' deep V with 60 hp motor. Have front depth finder, plus will have look out. Just want to see what kinds of fish swim in that river. Thanks any info is greatly appreciated.

Not a report, but a question. How navigable is this river? I have a 14 ft deep v with a 20 merc. Looks like alot of sandbars. How deep is the river on average? Thanks in advance

Any fishing reports? Need some suggestions. Going to be there canoeing next wknd. What are the bass hitting this time of year? Is bait best or can I get them on lures? Spinners and Jigs? What's best on this part of the river for eyes and smallies? I normally fish the Wisc river up north that's real rocky. Thanks

Nothing on the bank poles this morning, but later found some nice gills and a couple decent perch. Found enough gills for the bank poles also. They have been up real shallow and I am catching them on tungsten jigs with waxies. Had a pike come after one while bringing it back to the boat and had a dogfish take one of my 5 dollar jigs. All in all a good day on the water hope to have some flatheads in the morning. Good luck all. C.A.

Went out for 5 hrs yesterday afternoon, I brought in 10 cat all on dip bait of my own concoction. The front of the boat landed just as many with Sewer Bait and Sonnys cheese brands. We then took a nice 7 mile or so boat ride up the river and enjoyed the evening. So I would say the catfish bite is still decent for those wanting to enjoy the skeeters and scenic pleasure of the LWSR.

Went out on the river today to check conditions to get back to setting bank poles. Still very muddy and kind of high, but clearing up and dropping nicely. Hopefully we won't get to much rain in the next couple days. Stopped at a couple spots and drowned a crawler ended up catching sand sturgeon and sheepshead. Went to a backwater to see if I could get on to some blue gills for bait and there was plenty there. Went to my crappie spots and caught 7 nice ones just perfect for me and the wife for dinner Friday. Getting the bank poles out in the A.M. hope the flatheads are hungry. Good luck all. C.A.

the channel cat bite is on, yesterday boated a good mess of eaters .released a couple larger ones. all on sonny's, not a hit on crawlers. today first two fish a 6# and a 7# on , crawlers. again another good bag of eaters. plus a dandy shovelnose, a couple huge drum and a sauger, all on nitecrawlers. today no luck with any dip bait. the rain was brief and no effect on the bite.very few others on the water. Smile

At least you didn't end up with 15 of the same posts like mine did! Not sure what's up with that. And it won't let me delete them.
