Checked the lake last week Saturday, Had 1" on it just out from Bar and lake looked locked up. I would not go out yet but i do have the itch to do so. These warmer temps and rain predicted will melt it but i almost forgot it was hunting season for a bit.
MOON PHASE (91%)
Fished 3:30-5:30 PM. Water temp 58 cooling to 57. Couple other boats anchored. Quite windy but I usually drift weed beds on this lake so it didn't impact fishing much. Caught 6 small LMB on lipless cranks. Weed beds still brown but some green starting to show.

Went out for the derby. Drove out with my truck. 4-wheel drive was a must. As of Saturday there was still plenty of ice out there to drive out. About 6" of water and slush on top of the ice. It should freeze back up this weekend so its plenty safe for a 4-wheeler and id even go as far as saying a truck. Highs in the 20's this weekend will be a good thing. As for the fishing. Caught perch all night on tip ups. Biggest being 11.5" Caught 1 Crappie 12" and 0 Walleyes. Talked to some people and i think i have a good idea of where the eyes are heading. After looking at the eyes on the board i saw lots of red bellies! Ill let you guys draw your conclusions from there.
