Got out on the lake just after 7am. Set up in 17’ of water. Pretty cold and windy. Had steam coming up after we drilled each hole. Tough day fishing for the three in our party. No fish caught or even marked but fun time anyway! Visited the tavern just after noon to warm up.
Looking to head up and try a new lake Monday after work just wondered how the lake is looking and if anyone has any recent updates at all on fish bite. Also, wheres the best spot to access the lake? Thanks in advance and Pm's welcome.

Was out last Sunday and did fairly well. Some nice perch that were thrown back in 16 fow. Really cold and Really windy conditions made searching for fish difficult. Several other groups showed up an hour before dark with no real pattern to fishing areas.
if your driving all that ways my friend you will be disappointed!! hard water fishing on this lake is VERY technical.. i fished white clay for about 25-30 years, in the summer anyone that can drift wth a jig behind them gets fish. size and numbers.. winter it’s got to be the hardest bite i’ve ever seen!! years ago i put my shack on the 35 ft hole and really got crappies day and night. plain hook and minnows..now later whn the ice is getting bad they really bite great.. IF you got the presentation right..they are on and off so fast i don’t hardly see a spring bobber move.if you go my advise would be shawano lake. i had guys show me how to do it and i still had hard time man.. try a little gold hailey jig and really light line wth spring bobber.. and good luck you will need it. pic is from this past summer
