Got out around 8:00 AM 1/21. Set up 3 tip ups and managed 3 flags. I got robbed on one and pulled in two extremely skinny pike, both around 20" (par for course on Wheeler). Went back out at 1:00 and didn't get one flag (not much action with other groups around me either).
It was a pretty extreme weather day with dense fog, periods of rain, and near 40 degree temp. Not your typical January day for weather.
Not sure if it's the competition with the abundance of bass, overfishing, or the milfoil but the pike fishing is definitely not what it used to be here. I am probably going to stick to some other lakes I know with a healthier pike population.
